How I Get The Best Travel Photos for Instagram

by

As a solo traveler, I love documenting my adventures through photos and sharing them with others. But rather than always relying on my own skills, I’ve found that booking a professional photoshoot during my travels is a great way to capture the beauty of a destination.

One of the main benefits of booking a photoshoot while traveling is that it allows me to capture unique images that I wouldn’t be able to achieve on my own. Professional photographers have a trained eye and the technical expertise to create stunning images that really showcase the character and beauty of a destination. They also have access to high-quality equipment and editing software that can enhance and elevate the final images.

Another reason I love booking a photoshoot while traveling is that it allows me to have a more authentic and immersive experience. Photographers who work in the destinations I visit are locals with a deeper knowledge of the area. This means they can take me to hidden gems and off-the-beaten-path locations that I might not discover on my own. Because of this, they know the best spots to go and the best times. With this expertise comes the portrayal of character and culture in a photo.

Booking a photoshoot during my travels has been a rewarding and enriching experience that has allowed me to capture beautiful and memorable images that truly showcase the beauty of the destinations I visit. Whether I’m looking for stunning landscapes, candid moments, or authentic cultural experiences, this has been a great way to capture it all. I’ve utilized this in Mexico, Colombia, Guatemala, Tokyo, and Kyoto and have been impressed with the results each time. Not just great photos, but great people. I’ve only met interesting people who were behind the camera and they’ve shown me amazing things, given me great tips, and made my trip better.

Curious as to how I find photographers? Well, it’s actually really easy! I use Instagram and AirBNB Experiences. On Instagram, I go to the search bar and type in: [#city] + [photographer] and scroll through the results. For example, when I traveled to Cartagena, Colombia, I searched the hashtag: #CartagenaPhotographer. Once I find a photographer’s style that I like, I either DM them or find a booking link in their bio.

On AirBNB Experiences, you can type the city in and the dates you will be there to find availability. From there, go through the lists of activities available and you will see various photographers pop up. Using this option is nice because you can see reviews (professionalism, deliverables return time, etc). Both platforms are great resources, but I think you will have a wider number of people to choose from on Instagram. (Note: In smaller cities, AirBNB Experiences may not be a thing as it is not a popular thing everywhere.)
